What type of Computer do I need? |

The electronic claims submission process requires Windows XP operating system. Optimum performance will be achieved using a Pentium 4 computer with 2 GB of RAM. A CD-ROM drive is also required. Apple computers are not supported at the current time for electronic submission, but you can still use our web based claim submission system at iHCFA.com as long as you have Internet Explorer installed.

What speed Internet Access do I need? |

A high speed internet connection is advisable such as DSL, Cable or a T-1 line. Dial-up connections are possible but will be slower.

What practice management software will I need? |

The electronic claims process will run on most practice management software programs which support electronic claims transmission using ANSI 837 formats. |

How do I know if my practice management software will support the electronic claims process? |

Contact your practice management software vendor and ask if your system supports ANSI 837 electronic claim submission. If it doesn’t you may have to upgrade or add a module that will allow your system to submit ANSI 837 format. |

Will I need to dismantle my computer to install the electronic claims process software? |

No. Software only is added to your system. |

Depending upon your system, the speed of your connections and the speed of your computer, we will need approximately 1 hour of your time, however most of the installation is done remotely. |

What other information do I need to know prior to installation? |

You will need to know the Folder Name and Location where you store your medical reports or supporting documentation/SOAP notes so that these can be electronically attached to the claims which are being sent. |

How will I know if my claim is received successfully or has error? |

You will receive an error report which with detail on the successful transmission or rejection of the claim. |
